An Apple A Day
Damien Graves
Horror
pgs. 1-37

Tim Barnett was a boy who had a question that if a person could melt if the sun was too hot. And as he looked to the sky he always sweat from his face. And three days ago he had arrived to his Grandmother's farm but he was not so happy there. His Grandpa had died seven years earlier when Tim was just four and Tim's dad said to Tim's Grandma that she could live with them in their home but the grandmadid not want to go their house because the farm was the house where she was raised. Then Tim and his family moved near the grandma so she would not be alone. Then Tim met his new neighbors and they were not as friendly as he think. And than he saw the neghbor's perfect orchard and he wanted an apple from it. but then the neighbor saw Tim trying to cross over the fence to get an apple and then he got his shotgun and tried to shot Tim but he missed him but Tim feel over the neighbor's house and then the man was chasing him all over the place. That how far i had read.

I think Tim should not get into other people's property but the neighbor should not try to chase him with a shotgun. this is a very good story because it puts alot of suspense because the man tried to shot him and istead of Tim going to his house and called the police because the neighbor had a gun he fell over the fence into the neighbor house and then he chased him all over his house.

I still have a question why wouldnt Tim just asked for an apple nicely and the man would just give it to him.?

Journal # 7- Wednesday, 12/17

"All of us can become discouraged it is important to know, when you feel down, that many others do also and that their circumstances are often much worse than ours. And it is important to know that when one of us is down, it becomes the obligation of his friends to give him a lift."

How can we become discouraged?
How can you feel down?
How can others' circumstances be worse than ours?
Why when one us is down it becomes the obligation of his friends?
How can we give them a lift?

I think what the quote means with becoming discouraged it means that we become afraid of everything and we are afraid of going out to the real world. and when you feel down it means that you feel depressed. And their circumstances can be worse than ours in the way that it would be more difficult for them to get over them. And when one of us feels down it becomes the obligation of his friends to give him a lift or to cheer him up. So this is what I think this quote means.

This quote could be applied to real life because when someone feels depressed because something is going wrong in his life there are more people that are more depressed than him. Like if he feels depressed just because someone left him that is not so important as if you are loosing your house and you cannot pay for it. So this is how this quote would apply to the real life.

"The midnight library:a perfect gift"
Damien Graves
Horror
Pgs: 1-47

In the story "A perfect gift" Justin vale was a soccer player who was playing a soccer game and they were in penalties. When he scored he shouted to the air "six to nothing"and then the crowd was cheering the talent of Justin. Justin and his friends always celebrated the end of the school week with a pick up game at the park. And that day Justin played like he never had played in his entire life. Later that day the night was falling as Justin was saying good bye to his friends. and then as he was walking down the street he saw two firetrucks heading towards a really big fire. Then the next day Justin was very asleep. And he had a dream were he saw his mom yelling at him and then he woke up realizing he was late for school. But one day somebody stoled his sneakers. Then he went to his closet to check if he had left them there. But then he saw a shadow in the kitchen wandering if the shadow was his mother. This is what I have read so far.

Even that the story does not seem like a scary story I think that the fire had to do with Justin's mom and also when Justin lost his sneakers. But still I think it is a very good story with what I have read so far. And I like How Justin is because he likes soccer the same way I do. And he likes the same kind of shoes I like. So I think this is a very interesting story.

But I still have one quesstion, What was Justin's mom doing in the kitchen?, because she was not cooking at all.

Journal # 5

Work is the miracle by which talent is brought to the surface and dreams become reality.

I think what this quote means is that if you have a job then it is a talent because not every people has one or has one just like yours and so it is brought to the surface or in other words it has been shown out. Also if you have a job it means you have money and if you have money your dreams can become reality or true. So it is very important for you to have a job.

This quote could be applied to every day life. Like in this moments or right now in the world there are less jobs and if you have a job in this kind of times you are considered a very talented person. And even some people say that with money you can do anything you want and that all your dreams can become true. So this is how this quote can be applied to every day life.
